Box Chains

A box chain is built from square links that fit together into a smooth, four-sided cord. Because each link supports the next on all four faces, a box chain is unusually strong for its width — which is why it is often chosen for pendants that get worn every day.

How it wears. Box chains catch light in short flashes rather than a continuous shine, and they sit rounder against the neck than a flat curb or Cuban. At narrow widths they read as understated; at 4 mm and above the square geometry becomes clearly visible.
