More About Jewelry to Remember Hoop Earrings
Our hoops are solid gold, so the colour and character come from the metal itself — not a surface layer. Because there’s no plating to rub away, a pair you wear often keeps its colour and presence year after year.
Why This Collection Is Solid 10K Gold
All our hoops are made in solid 10K yellow or two-tone gold — it is the karat we build the whole hoop line around, not one option among several.
10K is 41.7% pure gold. That is lower than 14K, and on purpose: the extra alloy makes a thin hoop wire more resistant to bending and scratching, which matters on a piece you put on and take off daily. It is also why a 10K hoop costs less than the same design would in 14K — less gold by weight, not a lower-quality piece.
If you want a heavier-feeling or higher-karat hoop, our full earrings collection carries other karat options outside this line.
Hoop Sizes: A Quick Guide
Across the collection, hoop diameter runs from about 13mm up to 45mm. Three rough bands, measured the way the product pages list them (outer diameter):
- 13–19mm (small) — sits close to the earlobe, barely visible under hair, the easiest size to wear every day without thinking about it.
- 20–29mm (medium) — the size most of the collection sits in. Visible at a glance, still comfortable for all-day wear.
- 30–45mm (large) — a statement size. Noticeably lighter than it looks because solid gold is worked thin at this scale, but it does move more against your neck and hair than a small hoop.
Every product page lists the exact diameter and width in millimetres — measure a hoop you already own and like against those numbers rather than guessing from a photo, since photos are styled and not to scale.
Yellow Gold vs Two-Tone Hoops
Within this collection the real choice is yellow gold or two-tone gold, not yellow versus white — we do not currently make a white gold hoop.
- Yellow gold is the warmer, classic hoop — it is most of the line, and the easiest match to mixed yellow-gold jewelry you already wear.
- Two-tone pairs yellow and white gold in the same piece, like the Zenith Embrace hoops, for a bit more contrast without leaving solid gold.
If a white gold hoop is specifically what you are after, it is not in this collection today — check the product page for each pair before you buy on colour alone.
Gram Weight: What to Check Before You Buy
Gram weight is the one number on a hoop's product page that is not a matter of taste — it is physics. A solid gold hoop has to weigh what its size and gold content say it weighs; there is no version where a bigger hoop in the same metal weighs less.
Across this collection, weights run from about 1g for the smallest 13mm pair up to roughly 3.8g for the largest 45mm pair. If a hoop arrives and feels obviously lighter than its listed weight, or you want to check it yourself, a kitchen or postal scale accurate to 0.1g is enough — weigh it out of the packaging and compare to the number on the product page.
This is also why price moves with size inside the same design: more gold, more weight, more cost. A 13mm pair and a 45mm pair in the same finish are not priced the same, and shouldn't be.
Finish Options
The hoops in this collection come in five finishes, and they change how a hoop reads more than size does:
- Polished — a smooth, reflective surface, like our Lustre Loop hoops. The most common finish in the line and the easiest to keep looking new.
- High Polish — the same idea, pushed brighter; more mirror-like under direct light, as on the Zenith Embrace hoops.
- Textured — a matte or brushed surface that hides small scuffs better than a polished one, like the Cosmo Grace hoops.
- Diamond Cut — faceted cuts across the metal that catch light at different angles as you move, as on the Vectra Facet hoops.
- Polished and Textured — alternating bands of both on the same hoop, as on the Woven Radiance hoops.
None of these change the gold underneath — a textured 10K hoop is exactly as solid as a polished one. It is a surface choice, not a durability one.
Made in Italy
Every hoop in this collection is manufactured in Italy, a country with a long industrial history in gold jewelry production — the finishing work (polishing, texturing, diamond-cutting) happens there as part of the same production run, not as a separate step added later.
That does not make a 10K hoop into a 14K one, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What it does mean is that the finish quality — how evenly a polished surface catches light, how clean a diamond-cut edge is — tends to be more consistent piece to piece than on a lower-volume or hand-finished run.
Checking Your Hoops When They Arrive
When a pair of hoops arrives, three quick checks tell you more than a glance ever will:
- Weigh them. Compare the number on a kitchen scale to the gram weight on the product page. A real gap is worth asking about.
- Check the hallmark. Solid 10K gold is stamped 10K or 417 somewhere on the piece, usually near the earring post. If you can't find a stamp, ask.
- Look at the join. On an open hoop, the join should sit flush, with no visible gap or sharp edge against your skin.
None of this takes more than a minute, and it is the same thing we would check ourselves — it just means you do not have to take our word for it. If something feels off, our contact page is the fastest way to reach us.
Hoop Earrings FAQ
All you wish to know in one place. Still have questions?
Jewelry to Remember hoops are made of solid gold, designed for long-term wear.
Not currently. This collection is solid 10K, in yellow gold and two-tone gold only — check each product page for the exact colour before you order.
If you want one pair you’ll wear constantly, a medium hoop is typically the most versatile. Small hoops are great for a subtle, minimal look.
From about 1g for the smallest 13mm pair to roughly 3.8g for the largest 45mm pair — exact weight is listed on every product page.
Italy — every pair in this collection is manufactured there in solid 10K gold.
Warm water with a drop of mild dish soap and a soft cloth is enough for most everyday buildup. Avoid chlorine (pools, hot tubs) and ultrasonic jewelry cleaners on diamond-cut or textured finishes, since both can dull the cut over time.
